Mansell & Betsey.

Well hello there! It’s been a while since I last posted anything on here and there is no better time than 2.59am on a Tuesday morning to type something up!

I thought I would upload a quick and cute post… We have two new additions to our household, Mansell & Betsey. They are little ginger moggies who are about 10 weeks old and they are full of beans! Which is why I am able to you this post at silly o’clock in the morning…
We’ve had them for 3 days now and we couldn’t be happier (although not sure if Senna is too keen on them…).

Anyway, here are some pictures of our new fur babies 😄.

Summer. Yey.

So, it is officially summer… We have had a few days of sunshine and heat which has been fantastic,  even as I type, I am laying in the garden getting my vitamin D!
This bout of good weather certainly makes for happier people. Sadly due to my shifts, when the weather is beautiful and I am off work I have no one to play with. Thankfully, Jaimie is on felxi time and he’s normally home at 3:30pm, this avo we have done a spot of shopping, are now relaxing on the grass and I have a glass of coconut rum & coke in hand with a bottle of Asti (my new fave drink) in the fridge for later… Mum and Dad will be popping along for a few glasses and a ‘chin wag’.

The best things about summer are the clothes, I can wear summer dresses, skirts, beautiful shoes and sometimes I don’t even wear a jacket(!) and also the FOOD, bbqs and a lot of salads are consumed (however, tonight will be steak) and with that, comes alfresco dining.

I’m hoping to get a lot of done in the summer months, including the garden, the house, mini trips and adventures with my man, family and best buddies! I just hope I can get some weekends off…

Green Fingers.

Nearly a year after moving into our house we are now making a start on our garden! We’ve started growing our own veg in the greenhouse, cleaned out one of the sheds and we’re now ‘landscaping’.
I’ve never really had ‘green fingers’ and the only gardening I have done (ha!) is watch my dad from the garden room whilst I sipped on a martini and lemonade! But now I’m taking this very seriously and I don my best ‘garden getup’ (joggers and an old top) and I have also purchased gardening gloves for my little lady hands. Now, I’m not very good at it and in two days I have broken two hoes and chipped a shovel, which tells us I’m either terribly strong or using them wrong…
Both Sen and Moss are very curious and will try and ‘help’ by licking things and trying to catch flys, which as you can imagine is such A BIG HELP.

Anyhoo’s, we have big plans for the front, side and back garden, hopefully we can have it all done before the end of the summer and then we can start on the house. Fingers crossed…

Round Up.

It’s been a while! A good few months since I have typed a post. I was hoping to keep this more regular, but I’ve been working long shifts and when I’m off, I’m either cleaning the house or spending time with Jaimie/family/friends.
However, as I lay here in this lovley warm bubble bath, I thought I might post a little bit about what I have been up to in the last few months, so here we go…!

January
We have a new addition to the family, his name is Moss (named after racing driver, Sterling Moss). When we collected him, we would have been no older than 6-7 weeks, he was absolutely tiny! He has since grown and is extremely adventurous! Senna and Moss did not take to each other right away, but after 2 months of separation they are now best of friends and follow each other round the house and chase each other up tress and around the garden! I have turned into a crazy cat lady and I’m not ashamed,  as anyone with a pet will know, they are your adopted fluffy (or scaly) babies.

February
Now… I’m trying to think what happened in Feb… I think this was just a month of working a lot, lovley 10 hour shifts and waking up at 5am… Can’t beat it!
(I just checked my Twitter account) I didn’t really do much. Helped my friend gut her flat and had a lovely valentine’s evening with Jaimie.
February – DONE.

March
In March I did a lot more!
Jaimie had bought us tickets to see Swan Lake at The Playhouse, it was good, not great, but good. I LOVE ballet, ballet and tap were my first dance classes as a child and I continued for quite a while until I thought I was too cool, I completely regret that now! I was even considering taking it up again… I just really want my point shoes!

I was once again at the theatre, this time The Festival Theatre to see Singing In The Rain with my mum and two great aunties. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We were singing along and I wanted to get up on stage and splash about in the rain(!). If it comes back to Edinburgh, it is a definite ‘must see’. I’m now on a mission to get tickets for Top Hat!

This was the month that I caught a stinking cold and it was THE WORST. I have to tak 3 days off work, just to try an shake it! Thankfully now I have recovered.

Lisa, finally(!) moved into her flat which is just a mintues walk from my house. Some of the gang got together and helped move all her belongings and in the evening I had an impromptu gathering at my house, which many an alcoholic beverage was consumed!

Kirsty (Jaimies little sister) finally arrived back from her 14 months of travelling and we held a surprise dinner for their Mum and Dad at ours. It went down a treat and she finally got to meet her Nephew, his mum, the kittens and see the house, all in one eveing!

Me and Jay went aboard the Royal Yacht Britania for the second time in our 6 and a half years together, we had great fun and managed to pick up some delicious fudge.

I got to spend an afternoon with my Maw & Paw who took me out for lunch, we descended on the Foresters Guild in Portobello. Now, this just to be an old mans pub that I never frequented, however, it’s now under new management and the place is buzzing! The food was amazing and it was lovley to spend time with my parents.

April
I won a champagne and hotdog dinner at The Flying Dog, a new hotdog eatery in Leith a while back and we finally went last night and it was fantastic. We nipped into the Whisky Society beforehand for a drink.

That’s it for now, not sure if I have forgotten anything… And as you can see, this ‘little’ post ain’t so little!

Cheery bye chaps!

Our New Addition.

This is a post to introduce you all to Senna our little kitten and squeaker! He arrived nearly two weeks ago and is about 7 weeks old, he is absolutely amazing and we adore him. I have a fair few scratches in my hand and legs, but he makes up for it by giving me lots of cuddles and kisses.

Here are a few pictures of Senna, (he is named after Ayrton Senna the famous F1 driver, Jaimie’s choice).

Zoo Day.

Today Jaimie and I took a trip to the zoo, we have had tickets for ages, but today was the day! We woke up super early and hopped on a number 26 bus and got off just opposite Edinburgh Zoo, as we made our way across the road we noticed that there was a queue building and that a school bus with about 30 kids had arrived. To avoid being stuck behind all the school kids Jaimie and I ran up the stairs!

I wasn’t sure that we would be able to see the Panda’s but we were lucky enough to get a ticket!

Thankfully it was a stunning day and all the animals were out in force, we started from the bottom and worked our way up to the top which was an effort for me. I am tres unfit! I had to leave at 2pm as I was away to meet my friend Mike and I just left Jaimie at the Zoo to take pictures, which he was happy doing.

Anyway’s here’s a few of my many pictures that I took today.

Zoo Day.

Today me and my chums took a drive to the Five Sisters Zoo (near Livingston) to visit the animals and feed the Lemurs!

It’s about £12 for entrance and a ticket to feed the Lemurs, £7 without the feeding. This is my second time visiting Five Sisters Zoo, it’s not that big and they don’t have all the Animals that Edinburgh Zoo has, but nonetheless there is still quite a bit to see.

Lisa, Rach and Claire decided to feed the Lemurs and I was on picture duty! I had done it before and the last time I was there one of the Lemurs took a little wee on one of the kids and I wasn’t up for that, but I do now wish that I had feed them as it looked like great fun!

Here’s a few pictures taken from today and the link to the Five Sisters Zoo website:
