Funny Face.

Yesterday when I was in the gym I started watching a film called Funny Face (1957), staring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, the film is about a girl (Hepburn) who works in a bookshop gets spotted by a photographer (Astaire) and turned into a model.  Now it was the first time I had seen it and it’s bloody good!  A lot of singing, dancing and Paris (All the things I love) and the fashion is amazing.

There is a song in the film that makes me want to go back to Paris, it completely romanticises  the place and so it should as Paris is a beautiful city with beautiful people.  This video will show you what I mean;

Bonjour Paris

If you are ever in need of a good film to watch, watch this.

And Just Like The Movies.

I thought I would blog about a few films that I’m looking forward to this year.  Working in a cinema we get to see all the new films before the release dates which is one of the perks(!).  I rarely went to the cinema before I started working there I would rather wait for the DVD to come out, but because now I don’t have to pay for my tickets I go a few times a month.

So here are a few trailers for up and coming films that am I excited about, enjoy.

SUCKERPUNCH

THOR

CAPTIAN AMERICAN

TRANSFORMERS 3

JANE EYRE

RED RIDING HOOD

RIO

COWBOYS & ALIENS

YOUR HIGHNESS

I could go on, but I think that is enough for now!

Jenna, Drinks & A ‘B’ Movie.

So this weekend was a good un’ (minus the work).
One of my besties, Jenna came for a visit on Friday afternoon, it’s been ages since we last seen each other! We met after I finished work and headed down to Lloyds bar, this is not my favourite haunt, but the drinks are cheap.  It was great to have a catch up and a laugh, needless to say after 2 bottles of wine we were a little tipsy (drunk), we then decided to head back upstairs to my work and get a couple of tickets to see Machete.

Machete was originally a fake trailer from the Grindhouse series.  It looked amazing and I hoped that they would make it into a film, so when I heard the news that they were, was a very happy bunny.  Here’s a little run-down of the film:

Machete is a 2010 American action film co-written, produced, and directed by Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis.  It is an expansion of a fake trailer that was released together with Rodriguez’s and Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 Grindhouse. Machete continues the B movie and exploitation style of Grindhouse, including in part the same footage.  Danny Trejo stars in his first lead role as the title character. He also played a character named Machete in the Spy Kids franchise, which Rodriguez also directed. The film also stars Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Don Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal and Lindsay Lohan, who filmed scenes for the film during the autumn of 2009.  Cheech Marin and Jeff Fahey returned to portray their characters from the original trailer.’ (Wikipedia 2010).

It was amazing!  We loved every minute of it and would recommend that you go see it, you don’t pay attention to the storyline, as there doesn’t seem to be one.  But with all the B movie goodness you don’t need to.

After the film, we headed back down to Lloyds for ANOTHER bottle of wine (which went down well!) and continued our catch up.  By 10pm we were ‘hank marvin’ and decided that we would head back to mine for some well deserved scran!  We had a feast! Chips and chicken dippers, you can’t beat the kids classic!  The plan was to have some more wine and carry on our evening, but we were just to sleepy (we’re getting old!), it was off to bed for us. A very nice end to a very nice day/night.  Hopefully we won’t leave it as long to see each other!
