If you follow my Instagram (@LadyKaKa86 🖑) and on here you will see that I am a lover of fake nails/nail art and recently I’ve taken to wearing fake nails ALL THE DAMN TIME, some I’ve purchased from eBay which I paint and decorate and others have been purchased from no other than Primark. I have to say I’m really impressed with the Primark nails as they only cost between £1-£2 at that price you would think they would be flimsy and/or would not last long, however I’ve been known to wear a set for up to two weeks (!).
Now I know those you who are not into the fake nail look may class them as tacky and unpractical and you would be right, but I LOVE them and no amount of ‘how can you type with those’, ‘they are so long’, ‘I don’t like them’ will ever stop me wearing them.
I used to be into the acrylic and gels nails, but I found them to be a pain and it was a long arduous process to remove them and now a with a quick dip in nail polish remover my ‘stick on nails’ are off. I always try to have break from wearing them, whether it be for a few days or a week, during that time I make sure I get my natural nails in peak condition by buffing, applying cuticle oil and nail hardener (only for me to ruin them again I hear you cry!). I’ve seen the damage that gel and acrylic nails can do and I actually like my natural nails enough not to put them through that.
So below are some pictures of the aforementioned eBay and Primark nails and If you’re looking to wear them for one night or one week you should definitely invest in a set of fake nails, they are a hell of a lot cheaper than acrylic and gels!
I’m currently sporting the below eBay nails (which showcases a lovely fingerprint smudge).
I haven’t done one of these posts in ages! My weekend consisted of a Halloween party on Friday, Saturday was a write off; hungover/feeling sorry for myself and on Sunday myself & J took a walk, had a spot of lunch and I was treated to a massage by the man himself!
Christmas was a strange one for me this year, waking up in OUR house instead of my Mum and Dad’s and not doing the usual, which is – Waking up M&D’s at stupid o’clock, popping the kettle on and blasting the Marshall Christmas album circa 1993, before we exchange gifts and then I shuffle off to my room. This year, I woke up Jaimie & Senna and we stayed in bed to open our stockings, then headed downstairs, blasted some Now Christmas album that didn’t have all my favourite songs on it (sad face) and then we opened the presents before Jaimie made an amazing breakfast. After that we headed to Jaimie’s brother’s to see him, his girlfriend, baby Robbie, the new addition to the family and our beautiful little nephew and Skype their sister who is traveling.
Dinner was spent at M&D’s with my great aunties, aunt’s and uncle’s and Jaimies parents. The dinner was (as always) amazing and everyone had a fantastic time, luckily there was enough leftovers to keep me and Jaimie for a couple of day’s!
New Year’s Eve was a quiet one, spent with my two favourite boy’s. We were in our jammies by 7:30pm, had a Bonoful for dinner (the BEST Indian in Edinburgh) and then settled down to watch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels before bringing in the bell’s with a bottle of champers. We were such party animals and didn’t get to bed until 3am…
On the evening of New Year’s Day we invited my M&D to come round for a 3 bird roast, some drinks and a boardgame.
This is a post to introduce you all to Senna our little kitten and squeaker! He arrived nearly two weeks ago and is about 7 weeks old, he is absolutely amazing and we adore him. I have a fair few scratches in my hand and legs, but he makes up for it by giving me lots of cuddles and kisses.
Here are a few pictures of Senna, (he is named after Ayrton Senna the famous F1 driver, Jaimie’s choice).
Herrow chaps and chapettes!
Not much has been happening since I last checked in with you, still working away and spending money on clothes and shoes.
I turned the ripe old age of 26, as you get older you realise how much birthdays are not a bit deal. BUT I did however have an awesome birthday night with my best buds! The theme was Man v Food, everybody was invited to make big/lots of food and bring drinks. I went for the giant cheeseburger and with Jaimie’s help it was AMAZING.
It was a very drunken night (even though I was horrifically ill, I had viral infection), it wss filled with party games, face paints and people popped on all the trinkets inside their party bags. I loved it and I love my friends.
I also happened to go on a long weekend away to the beautiful city of Budapest. I went with 4 of my buddies and we spent 4 days and 3 nights exploring, taking in the sights and sounds with a pub crawl thrown in for good measure. Budapest is stunning and the weather was quite good, surprisingly warm in October! There is so much history and it was great to learn about it.
I will definitely be going back and this time taking Jaimie as he is DESPERATE to go.
Other things in Kathryn news is that I have a new phone which I love, hiya Galaxy SIII! Burst my lip and hurt my teeth on a drunken night out. Went to the RBS Museum Lates with Lisa and her work friends, again another drunken night out. Took mum to Chamber Street Museum to see the Catherine The Great exhibition, which is a must (it has since finished). Dinner and a meeting with Jaimie’s family for his dad’s 60. Spent more money on clothes and shoes. Treated mum, dad and Jaimie to lunch. Gotten over a viral infection AND cut my fringe in… again.
