Beauty Buys.

Recently, I have been spending some of my hard earned cash on haircare and beauty products, all of which I have purchased from my work.
Now, I am all for beauty on a budget and when these products arrived I couldn’t resist (I also get 10% off everything which makes it even better!).
My most recent buys have been –

OSIRIS AVISÈ – COLD CREAM, Cleansing Cream
image

Argan Oil – Heat Defence Leave in Spray
image

Argan Oil – Hair Treatment
image

Argan Oil – Shampoo & Conditioner
image

image

OSIRIS AVISÈ – CC Cream in Natural & Tanned
image

image

Cien – Make Up (Foundation in 1 Natural)
image

All of these products were under £3, which is an ABSOLUTE STEAL! The great thing is, is that because these are so cheap you don’t feel like you have burned a hole in your pocket!
As with most of the things my store sells, these little beauties will not be around for long and once they’re gone, they’re gone!
I will say that all these products work a treat for me, however everyones skin is different and these may not work for other folks, so do check the ingredients to make sure that they will work for you.

Review: Cien Products

Since moving into the house, getting a kitten and the change of job has meant that I cannot spend a small fortune on beauty products. I’m normally a bit of a high street girl, but will invest in some expensive products now and again, however I am completely in love with the Cien products which I have been buying from my work. I have bought the nail polish £1, mascara £1, moisturiser £1.99, shampoo 75p and conditioner 75p, hand cream £1.99, body moisturiser £1.99, nail polish remover £1.99, deodorant 99p and they are AMAZING! The make up range is pretty good for everyday wear, they also have lip gloss, lipstick and foundation, the colours are limited however that shouldn’t put you off. There is a selection of moisturisers too and I have gone for 24 moisture as the winter wind does no good for my skin!

The biggest thing for me however, is the shampoo and conditioner. After years of dying, straightening and curling my hair, it is now quite dry and brittle, I have tried LOTS of brands and even spent a small fortune on products to help fix my hair and the Cien products have proved to leave my hair shiny and silky smooth. The results were instant and bloody amazing, it’s crazy to think how cheap they are! A definite must buy.

If you’re looking for beauty on a budget then pop into your nearest Lidl store and pick them up and see for yourself!

Wedding Recption Fun Times.

Last Saturday we attended Jaimie’s friend Calum and his wife Fran’s wedding reception at The Balmoral, it was great fun and the bride and groom looked fantastic. It was nice for us to be able to dress up, have a night out and let our hair down as we don’t tend to do that very often as we’re old and now have a mortgage and a kitten (it wasn’t a late night however as I was working the next day).
Here is a few pictures of the evening, featuring the bride & groom, myself, Jaimie and his bbf Ally (and not forgetting the outfits!).

Jaimie is wearing trousers and tie from George at ASDA, shirt from TKMaxx, shoes from Clarks and the navy velvet jacket was my grandads.

I’m wearing a dress from George at ASDA, shoes from ebay and the coat is from M&S.

Round Up.

Herrow chaps and chapettes!

Not much has been happening since I last checked in with you, still working away and spending money on clothes and shoes.

I turned the ripe old age of 26, as you get older you realise how much birthdays are not a bit deal. BUT I did however have an awesome birthday night with my best buds! The theme was Man v Food, everybody was invited to make big/lots of food and bring drinks. I went for the giant cheeseburger and with Jaimie’s help it was AMAZING.
It was a very drunken night (even though I was horrifically ill, I had viral infection), it wss filled with party games, face paints and people popped on all the trinkets inside their party bags. I loved it and I love my friends.

I also happened to go on a long weekend away to the beautiful city of Budapest. I went with 4 of my buddies and we spent 4 days and 3 nights exploring, taking in the sights and sounds with a pub crawl thrown in for good measure. Budapest is stunning and the weather was quite good, surprisingly warm in October! There is so much history and it was great to learn about it.
I will definitely be going back and this time taking Jaimie as he is DESPERATE to go.

Other things in Kathryn news is that I have a new phone which I love, hiya Galaxy SIII! Burst my lip and hurt my teeth on a drunken night out. Went to the RBS Museum Lates with Lisa and her work friends, again another drunken night out. Took mum to Chamber Street Museum to see the Catherine The Great exhibition, which is a must (it has since finished). Dinner and a meeting with Jaimie’s family for his dad’s 60. Spent more money on clothes and shoes. Treated mum, dad and Jaimie to lunch. Gotten over a viral infection AND cut my fringe in… again.

Beauty Buys Part 4.

I seem to be buying a lot of beauty products the last couple of months which is a nice change from myself as I’m forever buying clothes and shoes! That said, I still haven’t started on my next ‘I Went Shopping Part Whatever’…The photo’s are a little dark as I used my phone to take them and there was minimal lighting in my room, so soz for them looking a tad fuzzy.

Review: No7 Colour Calming Primer.

I have A LOT of blotchy red marks on my skin and products such a B.B cream and foundation will reduce the redness but as I had a £5 off voucher for No7 products from Boots I took the opportunity to buy and try the Colour Calming Primer (£11).  Now this stuff is green, so you must be sure to rub it in correctly, otherwise you will look a bit like an alien…  Once you have applied the calming primer let it settle for a wee bitty and you will notice that the redness has calmed down and then you can pop your foundation on top.  A fab little product.

Jolly Holiday Part 3.

This is a post about Caister Castle and Car Museum, we didn’t realise we were getting into the castle as well as the museum so that was a lovely surprise!  Jaimie was the one who suggested visiting this place as he a HUGE car fan, but we were all happy to go along with and it turned out to be quite a cool showroom, unfortunately you are not allowed to take photographs of the cars inside (If I had this post would have been a lot longer!).  We enjoyed looking at all the old cars and bikes and see how much things have changed.

The Castle is lovely and we got to climb all the way to the top, sadly the veiws weren’t spectacular as all you could see for miles was fields, but nonetheless it looked like it would have been a beautiful Castle back in the day.
