Motivation.

Is something that I seem to be lacking.

I had big plans to drop some weight before my holiday to Croatia back in May/June, but I seemed to put it on (before and during the holiday!), not only drop weight but also get back into my gym, yoga, home workout and meditation routine which I was sticking to and enjoying(!).

Today for example, I had a half day from work (sadly working Saturday morning), I came home, ate the majority of a tiger loaf (with butter) and watched absolute drivel on the telly. BUT, I had/have big plans for the afternoon/evening, which consist of cleaning the house, getting my stuff ready for tomorrow, have a mini pamper session (inc. bubble bath), do some yoga and meditation. This as you can see is a nice little list that you would think I would be able to get done on the next couple of hours, but here I am, under the duvet, in my bed, typing up this post. I’m procrastinating! (Not such a) BIG SURPRISE!

I like to think that the weather has a great deal to do with my lack of motivation, if it’s dull and raining, all I want to do is climb into bed and nap or watch a film, however if the sun is shinning then I would rather be out and about. It’s supposed to be summer already and the lack of sun is making it very difficult for me to want to leave my bed and/or get anything done! I’m in serious need of some help, I need someone or something to help get me back into my routine and back to the happier, healthier me.

Wish me luck, as in the next hour(ish) I will have at least like to have ticked 2-3 things off my list (although I’m very tempted to add a nap to said list…. !).

And, if anyone has some motivation that they would like to send my way, please do! I’ll take what I can get right now!

Round Up.

Hey you guys! It’s been a while… I seem to have been bitten by the blogging bug and thought that would start off with a little round up post.
In the past few months there have been some ups and some downs, but thankfully everything is good at the moment!

The biggest thing that has happened is that we lost our little Mossy Moo, our youngest cat was tragically hit by a car and died on the 8th of May. It has been a horrible time, it hit us really bad and our oldest cat Senna stopped eating and was trying to find Moss (that was heartbreaking to watch). Sen has thankfully gotten better and both myself and Jaimie have gotten through the worst of it, but still think about him and miss him everyday.

On a lighter note, I’m currently being up skilled at work and will be duel skilled by July! There has and is still a lot to take in, but it’s been nice to be off the phones!

There’s a lot of stuff coming up, such as a gig, stag do, hen do and 3 more weddings and I’m trying to get back on the healthy wagon (although I doubt the tub of Ben & Jerry’s that was consumed over 2 days will help!).

Finally, it feels like summer! With the better weather it means that more time will be spent outside and I intend to start walking home from work (let’s see how long that lasts!).

(I’m going to keep this up, I’m going to kee….).

Summer. Yey.

So, it is officially summer… We have had a few days of sunshine and heat which has been fantastic,  even as I type, I am laying in the garden getting my vitamin D!
This bout of good weather certainly makes for happier people. Sadly due to my shifts, when the weather is beautiful and I am off work I have no one to play with. Thankfully, Jaimie is on felxi time and he’s normally home at 3:30pm, this avo we have done a spot of shopping, are now relaxing on the grass and I have a glass of coconut rum & coke in hand with a bottle of Asti (my new fave drink) in the fridge for later… Mum and Dad will be popping along for a few glasses and a ‘chin wag’.

The best things about summer are the clothes, I can wear summer dresses, skirts, beautiful shoes and sometimes I don’t even wear a jacket(!) and also the FOOD, bbqs and a lot of salads are consumed (however, tonight will be steak) and with that, comes alfresco dining.

I’m hoping to get a lot of done in the summer months, including the garden, the house, mini trips and adventures with my man, family and best buddies! I just hope I can get some weekends off…

Jolly Holiday Part 1.

TA DA!  And here it is one if my (1? 2? 3? More?) holiday posts.  Norfolk is a lovely place to visit and Norwich a fab City, full of interesting building and some good shopping.

This is the day we went into Norwich to visit the Castle/ Museum and the Cathedral.  I also dragged Jaimie round the shops for a spot to retail therapy which you can never have too much of!  Sadly that day was quite rainy and windy, however we did get a spot of sun the afternoon which was much needed.  There will be a second post where we’re back in Norwich and it’s all about the market.

What A Weekend.

Well this weekend was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time(!).  I had the Saturday off which I spent with Jaimie and my nearest and dearest, during the day I was down at my local beach (Portobello) where Jaimie and myself met up with Lisa and puppy Mac for some fun.  I then thought it would be a nice idea to invite my friends round for some much needed banter and drinks, so I sent the texts round and they started arriving at mine at 8pm.  The night continued until 3am and it seems that everyone had a fabby time as did I (it’s been so long since I’ve been with my friends), but I was knackered when they left!

Sunday morning I awoke and got ready for work (for a 10 hour shift!), sleepy and in a ‘I can’t be bothered going to work’ attitude, but I got into work for 12 and was amazed to see work completely dead.  And was so very very happy when my boss asked me if I wanted to finish early as work wasn’t going to pick up, I jumped at the chance!  So after two and half hours work I was cashed up and sent on my way!  I knew my buds where planning a wee trip away so I joined them on the journey to Cramond beach where walked along in the sand and just sat about enjoying the sun and the company.  I’m hoping next weekend can be just as fun!

Taste Festival 2011.

I LOVE the Taste Festival!  This was the second time that I attended, Jaimie managed to pick up two for one tickets for us, his mum & dad and my parents.  It was £15 to buy one pack of ‘crowns’ which is how you pay for things, although some of the stalls only take cash, I’m sure that was more expensive than the last time…

Anyhoo’s!  We watched some of the chefs (Gary Rhodes walked past me!), we sampled good food, fine wine (drinks) and spent lots and lots of money!  Thank goodness the weather held up and it was a lovely sunny evening and this was also the first time in nearly 4 YEARS(!) that our parents would properly meet each other, luckily they got on really well.

We’re also off to the Foodies Festival in August, so that’s most of my money gone then!

I Drink Cava In Parks.

A couple of weeks ago Edinburgh was hotter then hot!  And on this day I promised some of my work buds that we would go clothes shopping, so we got a little group together (6 of us) and hit the town.  It was a great laugh trying on clothes and getting a spot of lunch from The Standing Order, in the evening we thought it would be the prefect ending to the day by buying some booze and hitting up the Meadows.  The park was buzzing, there was mini BBQ’s, people handing out fruit and juice, singing and a boot camp(!), the shows were also in town and some ‘banging’ tunes were drifting in our direction.  We bought some beers, cider and I had my rose cava, I was deemed the classy-est out of our bunch with my choice of alcoholic beverages.

(Abbie and Myself doing our best ‘ya’ hairdos.)

That night I was supposed to go to Jaimie’s for dinner, but I stayed out with my friends instead.. (bad Kathryn!).  Even though Jaimie fell out with me (for 2 days) I am glad I stayed out, after the Meadows we headed along to The Tron for cheap drinks and called upon some more of our friends to come along, from there we got some pizza and then went back to Abbie’s where I had THE best laugh!  A couple of us stayed over and the next day it was even hotter!  Myself and Mike walked from Abbie’s into town where we got some food and a frappuccino, which was much needed!  Another amazing day/night!
